A JV student football player was stabbed by another student following a fight after a practice game

Just after 6:30pm tonight, (Monday, September 9th) Martin County Sheriff's deputies were called to assist the Stuart Police Department with a stabbing incident following a fight on the football field at Jensen Beach High School.

When they arrived, deputies discovered that a 14-year-old Jr. Varsity football player had been cut in the stomach by another 14-year-old JV football player after a practice game. Although the wound is not life-threatening, the victim was taken to the hospital.

The suspect, who used a razor in the incident, was immediately detained and arrested. The scene was secured, and the suspect was transported to the Martin County Jail to be booked and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He will be transferred to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Detention Facility.
