Pete Rose death, obituary: Baseball legend Pete Rose died at the age of 83

Pete Rose, Major League Baseball's all-time hit leader, has died at the age of 83, according to his agent Jeff Lankov. Rose was banned from betting on sports for life.

Rose died Monday at his home in Las Vegas, according to TMZ.

According to Ryan Peterman of Peterman Sports, “the family requests privacy at this time,” the entertainment news outlet reported.

The cause of death was not immediately released.

Known as “Charlie Hustle,” Rose had 24 MLB seasons with a total of 4,256 hits, mostly with the Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies. He played on three World Series winning teams, was named to 17 All-Star teams, and won the 1973 National League MVP award.
