Poly, Alabama A brawl broke out on campus, creating immediate alarm and many rumors regarding the nature of the incident. Foley High School was replaced Thursday morning. After determining that no weapons were involved and that no shots had been fired, Baldwin County law enforcement authorities – including members of the Foley Police Department and deputies from the Baldwin County Sheriff's Department – quickly responded to the incident, secured the campus and lifted the lockdown. .

Although this incident worried the neighborhood and parents, no one was hurt, and all the young people were told to stay safe. But false information quickly spread on social media, making it difficult for law enforcement and education officials.

A spokesperson for Baldwin County Public Schools stated that the lockdown was implemented as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of staff and students while the matter was evaluated. “We are able to make sure every student is safe, and the lockdown was lifted once the campus was secured by law enforcement. The spokesperson stated, 'At no time were weapons involved, and the rumors of a shooting are completely false.'

Later in the morning, in response to a flood of false material circulating online, the Foley Police Department released a second statement. The statement said many of the photos and videos shared on social media in relation to the lockdown were outdated and unrelated to the activities that took place at Foley High School that morning. The police department said, “some of these photos were not even taken on this campus,” and advised the public to rely on official sources for up-to-date information.
