Coroner James Williams and the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) reported that the collision occurred around 2:00 p.m. on a portion of Carl Vinson Parkway that is commonly used by both cars and motorcycles. The driver of the 2024 Lexus NX was attempting to turn left onto Carl Vinson Parkway from the entrance to a cemetery while Andrew Birmingham was traveling northbound on the Parkway on his motorcycle. Birmingham's life was sadly taken during this maneuver when he crashed into the side of the Lexus, sustaining catastrophic injuries.
Birmingham was taken to Warner Robins Houston Medical Center in critical condition after first responders were dispatched to the scene. He was pronounced dead at the hospital despite the heroic efforts of the medical staff.
