Nicholas Grace has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting outside the Pueblo convenience store

The Pueblo County Coroner's Office has named the man who was shot and killed outside a convenience store in Pueblo as 56-year-old Nicholas Edward Grace. The horrific incident happened early on September 26 in the Loaf N' Jug parking lot, located at 1104 Pueblo Blvd. way. So far no one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

According to initial assessments by the Pueblo police, there is a possibility that the shooting started as a result of an attempted carjacking. However, Director of Community Engagement Bianca Hicks stated that investigators are still actively working on the case and have not yet determined a motive for the incident.

After hearing the claims of a panic alarm and a possible shooting on Thursday morning, the police were called to the convenience store shortly after 3 am. When they got there, they found Grace bleeding from a gunshot wound in the parking lot. His passing represents Pueblo's 16th homicide of 2024; There were 26 murders in Pueblo in total in 2023.
