On September 10, father-of-two Russell, 11, and Ben Smith, 9, discovered their bodies at their family home in Faulconbridge, west of Sydney.
The boys' 42-year-old mother was also found at the scene with stab wounds, according to NSW Police at the time. She was rushed to the hospital in serious but stable condition. Since then, two murder charges have been filed against her.
Yesterday, a memorial service was held for the two boys in Springwood, where their father Nick Smith said goodbye to his “beautiful sons” in a pre-recorded obituary, 9News reports.
“It was an absolute, absolute privilege to be your father … I will always hold you so dear to my heart,” he said.
Smith concluded with a heartfelt message to his sons. ,
“Ross and Ben I love you so much, I will never stop loving you,” he said.
