After discovering his death Thursday afternoon, the Nebraska State Patrol suspended Gary Fermus, 84, from Scottsbluff's Endangered Missing Advisory.
Premus was described by NSP in the first missing report as being highly dependent on oxygen.
Fermus' death is still under investigation, but no details are known at this time.
The public praised the agency for helping them find him and for sharing their message.
