Dustin West and Billy Skinner have been identified as the two killed in the Waplow County crash

Two men lost their lives in a tragic accident involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle Friday in Waplow County, Iowa. The drivers of the motorcycle and van were identified by the Iowa State Patrol as 29-year-old Dustin West and 45-year-old Billy Skinner, respectively.

Around 4:54 p.m., a fatal collision occurred near Bladensburg Road and Agency-Hendrick Road. Authorities say as Skinner drove his vehicle north on Agency-Hendrick Road, West was traveling south. As Skinner turned west, the motorcycle and truck crashed together.

The Iowa State Patrol and nearby emergency personnel responded to the scene, where both were pronounced dead: West and Skinner. The Waplow County Sheriff's Office, Ottumwa EMS and Waplow County Rural Fire provided response assistance.

Authorities are still investigating the crash to determine the exact circumstances leading up to this unfortunate event.

Waplow County is still dealing with the heartache brought about by this sudden and terrible disaster as the community mourns the deaths of Dustin West and Billy Skinner.
