On Wednesday morning, a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 99 (the Pacific Southwest Highway), two miles north of Sherwood, left one person dead and one person seriously injured.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office reports that 72-year-old Robert Blomquist of Sherwood collided with another vehicle traveling northbound on Route 99.
Blomquist crossed the median, lost control of his vehicle and collided head-on with a box truck.
Later, a dump truck was also hit by the box.
Another person was seriously injured and taken to the hospital; However, they are expected to make a full recovery.
