Randall Vallee Hendrickson Rose Hill Obituary, Causes of Death: Father and 11-year-old son killed by wrong-way driver in K-96 crash

A father and his 11-year-old son were killed in a wrong-way crash on K-96 near Wichita, Kansas on Friday.

Randall and Ellie Henrikson, of Rose Hill, were traveling west on K-96 at 13 around 7:30 p.m., when an eastbound Dodge Durango driven by Amanda Fleming crashed into them head-on.

The crash caused Randall's RAM 1500 pickup truck to spin, hit another vehicle and burst into flames.

The Henriksons and Fleming died in the incident while three passengers in the third car suffered minor injuries.

Randall Henrikson was a father of four who loved his children above all else, according to a GoFundMe launched in their memory.

“Randall and his son Eli were tragically killed in a car accident on 09/13/24. Leaving behind a grieving mother, and 3 devastated children. Randall is my brother-in-law, he and my sister have been married for many years. Always happy, never wavering. Randall was a loving father to -4 who always puts his children before himself, he also enjoys dedication and milestones,” wrote organizer Andrew Pride.

He added: “Eli is my nephew, he was always so loved and adored by everyone who knew him. He loved bushcraft and watching movies.”

Eli Henrikson was in the 5th grade at Rose Hill Schools $394.

“Our school community is deeply saddened by the loss of fifth grader Eli Henrikson and his father, Randall. We send our heartfelt condolences to their family and friends,” the district said in a statement.
