The 17-year-old student at Los Osos High School passed in a very tragic way, and the Rancho Cucamonga community is in mourning.

The teenager, now known as Emily Gold by Los Osos High School staff, took her own life on Friday, September 13, 2024, shortly before 11:50 p.m. Many noted that Gold jumped from the overpass and landed. in the 210 East Carpool lane, directly east of Haven Avenue, according to CHP incident logs. Until around 23:57, when a kind Samaritan stopped to wait with the boy's motionless body, other cars hit the boy's body.

According to CHP reports, all lanes of traffic were closed at 12:00 a.m. and lanes #2 and #3 were reopened at 12:12 p.m. As for the official statement released by Los Osos High School, Gold, a senior, participated in both the varsity cheer squad and captain of the dance team this year .
