Authorities in Bedford County have announced the death of a 33-year-old man who was missing.
After last being seen Wednesday morning at his apartment complex near Jefferson Forest High School, Devon Staley was reported missing Friday.
Later on Friday, near Westin Village Road in the forest area, a passerby discovered a man down a steep embankment with a tree on top of him and no pulse.
After responding to the scene, Bedford County Fire and Rescue deputies and sheriff's deputies pronounced the person deceased. Later, this man was revealed to be Staley.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will receive the body for an autopsy. Public safety is not at risk, according to the Bedford County Sheriff's Office, and the death is not being investigated as suspicious.
