Following a shooting in Penn Yan that authorities are characterizing as a murder-suicide, a married couple is dead.
Penn Yan police said 38-year-old Ashley Monaco shot her 37-year-old husband Michael Personali multiple times before pulling the trigger on her weapon.
Monaco allegedly shot herself in the neck after shooting her husband in the head and torso.
When Penn Yan police arrived at the home on Franklin Street at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, they found two people dead from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
A family member reported to 911 that shots had been fired at the house.
After conducting an investigation, the police came to the conclusion that the shooting was a murder-suicide.
