David Kimball Obituary: After a 3,000-foot jump from a 'cursed' Italian mountain in which others also perished, an American base jumper has died.
It is believed that 33-year-old David Kimball fell because his parachute broke. He made a dangerous jump on Tuesday from the Piani dei Resinelli mountains, which are above Abadia Lariana in Lombardy.
He was found dead in the wooded area below the launch site shortly after the jump, around 1:30 p.m., according to local newspaper Il Giorno. Law enforcement agencies, fire agencies and mountain rescue teams rushed to the remote location.
They investigated the particular incidents that occurred afterwards.
It takes place in the same place where Gallarta resident Alessandro Fiorito died 300 feet below the surface as a result of a problem with his wingsuit.
