Cortez Hicks, 35, lost his life in a horrific shooting in Dublin, Georgia, on Wednesday afternoon.
A fatal incident occurred in a residential area that shocked the community.
Local authorities are actively investigating the circumstances of the incident in an effort to piece together what happened, even if much information about it is still unknown.
Before noon, Saturday, there was a shooting at a home in Dublin, Georgia at 422 Jones Village. After being quickly summoned to the scene, Hicks was taken to Fairview Park Hospital by ambulance.
Shortly after being brought to the hospital, he died of his injuries despite the efforts of the medical staff. Lorain County Deputy Coroner Nathan Stanley states that Hicks was pronounced dead around 12:24 p.m.
Local law enforcement officials were aware of this unfortunate death and are currently working non-stop to determine what led up to the shooting. The case has been handed over to Dublin Police, and investigators are actively pursuing leads, speaking to witnesses and gathering information.
