Missing 4-year-old, autistic boy, Kaleb Jamison Canton, Mississippi found dead in pool near apartment complex

Jameson, Caleb Cause of death: The body of a missing Canton teenager was found last night after he strayed from his apartment, authorities said.

Madison County Sheriff Randy Tucker released the details of the discovery of 4-year-old Caleb Jamieson's death in a small lake near his father's apartment building Wednesday morning. Jamieson went missing yesterday around noon. Tucker said the boy was found by a dive team a short distance offshore in some floating grass.

During the search, Tucker said, agencies from all over central Mississippi were there, including FBI agents ready to initiate a kidnapping protocol if the investigation went that way.

The long search began yesterday when autistic Kaleb was seen walking outside his home in a video doorbell. Tucker claims that the community rallied around the project.

“This community has been so nice and treated us so nice, and helped us search and pray and supported each other,” Tucker said. “You don't see that much anymore.”

Tucker said family members have access to grief assistance. The Law Enforcement Alliance for Peer Support was also informed about the incident, and they are ready to assist the first responders in the investigations.

“It's hard, but even more so with a child,” Tucker said.
