Marina Ramirez Rico, a former high school teacher at Soledad High School in Soledad, was arrested for having sex with a boy.
After being caught on camera having sex with a 15-year-old student, Marina Ramirez, 34, of Greenfield, California, was charged with five misdemeanor counts of having sex with a minor.
Rico was given a $50,000 bond after being taken into custody at the Monterey County Jail.
Rico was teaching at Soledad High School when the tragedy happened. He is currently a teacher at the middle school on the main street. After her arrest, the Soledad Unified School District superintendent placed her on administrative leave.
The police said that while executing a search warrant at the victim's residence in connection with a weapons investigation, the case against Rico became clear. A video of the interaction between the teacher and the student was discovered on the victim's phone during the search.
More evidence of the crime was discovered when the detectives located Rico and placed her under arrest.
Soledad Police are asking the public if they or someone they know had inappropriate contact with Rico to call Detective Lozano at 831-223-5164.
